SLIDE MONSTERS (Trombone Unit)Eijiro Nakagawa, who represents Japan and is active at the forefront of the music scene both in name and reality, and Joseph Alessi, who is admired by brass players around the world and continues to reign supreme in the trombone world. The two have formed a new trombone unit with these two at the center of the group. The members, who transcend national borders and genres, are selected by Alessi as "the trombonists I most want to play with": Marshall Jirx, a trombonist who leads the New York jazz scene, and former Dutch Radio Philharmonic Orchestra member and European trombonist. Philharmonic Orchestra and one of Europe's leading bass trombonists, Brant Ateema. The concept of the band is to expand its potential to the fullest with the simplest of compositions: only four trombones. Their debut album "Slide Monsters," released at the same time, has received more than 370,000 music video views and charted on the iTunes and Billboard charts, creating a "Slamon Whirlwind" in Japan and abroad as a one-of-a-kind ensemble that transcends existing genres. The group has created a "Sulamon whirlwind" both domestically and internationally. With the simplest of compositions, only four trombones, the band expands its possibilities to the fullest. It is said that more than 70% of the trombone sounds heard in Japan on TV and in movies are his own. He has performed with professional orchestras such as the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, Sapporo Symphony Orchestra, New Japan Philharmonic, Osaka Philharmonic, Yamagata Symphony Orchestra, and many others. Joseph Alessi is the top trombonist in the world, and is admired by brass players all over the world. He has been the principal for 32 years and is the president of the International Trombone Society. He is also known as the "God of Trombone" and is the most famous trombonist in the world, both in name and reality. Marshall Jirks is a top musician at the forefront of the New York jazz scene, and has been nominated for two Grammy Awards in 2016 for the WDR Big Band album featuring him, making him one of the best and most sought-after first call players in the U.S., and always on offer from around the world.
