Thee Heart Tones

Description:

★★★From the popular Big Crown, following in the footsteps of Bobby Orosa, Brain Story, and The Marloes. A young R&B group that carries on the Chicano/Low Rider oldies tradition. Produced by Leon Michaels, the genius who also produced Norah Jones' latest album! This is a hot recording! The six young members met at a high school in Hawthorne, a town southwest of Los Angeles. Jasmine Alvarado, a female singer who always joined the chorus with her ukulele, provided the lyrics for Ricky Cerezo (Key), who was about to form a new band. Ricky approached the four of them, who were already in a band (playing heavy metal), and the six of them met for the first time at a rehearsal. The moment they played the original "Don't Take Me As A Fool," the band members said they got goosebumps. When Ricky's father, who always listened to barrio oldies, gave them a listen, he gave them his stamp of approval, and The Heart Tones were born. Jasmine is 19 years old, and Jorge (ds) is 21. Their smoldering sound, which belies their age, is proof that they have inherited 100% of the aesthetics of barrio music.Growing up in LA," Ricky says, "you're influenced by the city, the artwork, the music. 'My dad didn't own a lowrider, but other members of the family did. The Impala and El Camino. I was influenced by culture, especially Chicano culture. Oldies and soul music also played a big part." Style, culture, and respect for the past. That's what we are trying to do. We want to connect young Chicanos with their heritage. Leon Michaels, Thomas Brenneck, who recorded the album, and Kevin from Brain Story also participated in the recording. A must for Chicano Soul lovers and R&B fans.
