This is the world's first SACD release remastered from the original analog master tapes owned by Nippon Columbia! New commentary included! The master conductor Matacic and the NHK Symphony Orchestra are still known for their many masterpieces. This masterful duo recorded this masterful repertoire in 1968. This is a performance that captures the essence of Wagner's music. The original analog master tapes owned by Nippon Columbia have been remastered and released on SACD for the first time. The CD layer also uses the remastered sound source. The CD layer is also re-mastered from the original analog master tapes. The mastering was done on the 40th anniversary of his death.Although a number of live recordings of both musicians have been released, this is the only album in which they were recorded as a session. Matacic conducted the NHK Symphony Orchestra on his first visit to Japan in 1965, when he accompanied the Slavonic Opera Company as part of NHK's 40th anniversary broadcasting program. From the beginning, he had a strong relationship with the NHK Symphony Orchestra, and on his second visit to Japan, he was awarded the title of "Honorary Conductor" (1967). (1/2)
