[Herbert von Karajan, a great conductor who reigned over the classical music world in the 20th century with his outstanding musicality and charisma. From the "Karajan's Legacy" series, which Karajan worked on energetically in his later years in the 1980s, this is a live performance of the "All Souls' Day" Memorial Concert held on November 24, 1985 at his home base, the Philharmonie in Berlin. In his later years, Karajan felt deep sympathy for Bruckner's works and performed them at every concert. Karajan made studio recordings of Bruckner's unfinished symphonies in the 60s and 70s, respectively, and in the 80s, the "state of liminality" between a mature conductor and orchestra has been beautifully crystallized in a performance. The Berlin Philharmonic's performance was nothing short of wonderful. This is truly a work worthy of a master's legacy. Recorded: November 24, 1985 at the Philharmonie Berlin (live) *Upconverted from the LD master to Blu-ray Disc. The sound source is remastered by b-sharp (planned).
