This is a collection of previously unreleased demo recordings of songs recorded on open-reel tape in a small apartment on the Sunset Strip between 1966 and 1968 by Sandy Salisbury, vocalist and songwriter for the genius Kurt Boettcher's The Millenium in the late 1960s. Including a demo version of "Once I Knew a Little Dog" from his only solo album "Sandy (1969)," this is a rare collection of songs performed almost entirely by Sandy himself, including vocals, harmonies, harpsichord, and guitar. Sandy Salisbury, born in Philadelphia in 1944 and raised in Hawaii, joined Kurt Boettcher's Ballroom in 1966 as a vocalist. The band changed its name to The Millenium and released the album "Begin" on Columbia in 1968. His vocals as well as his composition "5 AM" were highly acclaimed. However, the album was a commercial failure and the band disbanded, despite spending a great deal of money.The following year, in 1969, he recorded a solo album "Sandy" produced by Kurt Boettcher, but it was not released until 2001. In the 2000s, he and Millenium became popular for their soft-rock music, and they released a number of albums, including "Falling To Pieces," which was released in 2001, In the 2000s, he and Millenium began to enjoy the popularity of soft rock, and many unreleased recordings, including his solo album "Falling To Pieces," were released. He has also resumed his musical activities under the name "Little Johnny Coconut.
