A masterpiece from veteran guitarist Coco Montoya, who inherits the DNA of Albert Collins and John Mayall, and whose energetic and vigorous guitar playing has grown deeper and more soulful and powerful vocals are a must-hear! Produced by Grammy winner Tony Braunagel and backed by the current regular band including multi-instrumentalist Jeff Parris, with guest appearances by Ronnie Baker Brooks, Lee Roy Parnell, and others. The album features originals as well as covers by Bobby Bland, Ronnie Mack, and others. Coco Montoya, a southpaw guitarist born in California in 1951, began playing in clubs as a drummer in local rock bands in the 1970s. At that time, he was recognized by Albert Collins, and three months later went on tour with him as a member of his band. After the tour, they stayed in touch for more than five years, and Collins taught him how to play the blues guitar. Later, in 1984, he was discovered by John Mayall, who recruited him to join his band, the Blues Breakers, as lead guitarist. He has played on seven albums, both studio and live.After receiving endorsements from two of the biggest names in the blues world, he made his debut as a solo artist in 1995 with "Gotta Mind To Travel" on Blind Pig. He then moved to Alligator in 2000 and released "Suspicion", followed by "I Want It All Back" and a live album on RUF in 2010, produced by Keb Mo. In recent years, he has returned to his old home, Alligator, and released "Hard Truth" in 2017 and "Coming In Hot" in 2019, showing his vitality beyond his 70 years.
