Description:
Following in the footsteps of Holy Hive and Bobby Oroza comes a new soul singer/songwriter star! His new sensibility is a fusion of delicate vocals and vintage soul, and with this album, his name will be widely known around the world. After releasing a 7-inch in February of this year, Les Amplimets' debut album has been much anticipated, and now he has finally completed it. The lead single, "Falling Away," begins with a raw drum break and transforms into a richly arranged song. Still Here" is a roaring track that breathes new life into the B-side ballad genre. Then there are "You" and "Our Love," doo-wop arrangements based on the soul of the 60s and 70s. His lyrics and delivery have a divine moment that keeps the melody going long after the song is over. The infectiousness in the lyrics and the pop sensibility of the songs are done with the utmost flair, and the more you listen to them, the deeper their appeal deepens.
