Carlos Aguirre Grupo's third album released in 2008, known as "Violator (purple disc)," is now available on vinyl. Carlos Aguirre, together with his trusted colleagues, strived for the highest level of expression in terms of both music and ensemble. This work has influenced many artists in Japan and abroad, and even now, every time you listen to it, you will encounter fresh surprises and discoveries. In 2024, Carlos Aguirre toured Japan for the first time in five years. In the aftermath of the excitement, the third album he released in 2008 with his own group, known as "Violator (purple)," is now available on vinyl. After "Crema (white disc)" (2000) and "Rojo (red disc)" (2004), Carlos and his group have created a sound world that can be called the achievement of neo-folklore, with a magnificent soundscape filled with rich poetic sentiment. The ensemble is a masterpiece, developed from a wide range of musical backgrounds and freely conceived ideas, and performed by Carlos and his trusted members. This all-instrumental work, including three large pieces of more than 10 minutes in length with rich ups and downs, draws the listener in like a large painting. This work is a wellspring of the lineage leading from neo-folklore to the new Minas generation, such as Aca Seca - Andrés Baeusaert, and is also a rewarding listen for fans of artists who seamlessly cross jazz/ambient/ethnic music, such as Sam Gendel and Fabiano do Nascimento, etc. 2018 This long-awaited limited-quantity vinyl edition includes a reconstructed bilingual translation and commentary from the Japanese CD release in 2006, and reproduces the original artwork, completed by four different sheets of paper layered together.
