The ensemble was formed by players who grew up in the traditional Czech horn academy in the church in the historic Czech city of Most, where a gothic organ is used, and where Bruckner's long history has been nurtured and continues to influence performers around the world. The ensemble is led by Babolák, the world's greatest horn player in both name and reality, and is made up of the best players from the major Czech orchestras. This year's program focuses on symphonic works, with two movements from the late great works, No. 8 and No. 9. The first movement from the Ninth Symphony and the third movement, Adagio, from the Eighth Symphony sound like a single symphonic work. After the great temple of the first movement of the ninth symphony with the great church organ and horn ensemble, the adagio of the eighth symphony with Babolak's solo contrasted with the clear violin sound is truly the music of the gods, following the previous work.Recorded in multi-surround sound, this album is an audio treat with a three-dimensional, divine Bruckner sound.
