In “Shiny Stockings,” the album’s sole standard number, Nishikawa’s signature swingy drumming—rooted in her big band background—resonates powerfully. The recording lineup features long-time collaborators Keishi Matsubara (g), Yuichi Narita (p), and Ryuichi Ishikawa (b).
