Dear Blues celebrated their 10th anniversary in 2017 with their anniversary album "Walking Cats". The CD is taken out of the case and inserted into the CD player. The McCoy Tyner number, "Inception," which is a gut punch right from the start, gives you a sense of the momentum of the album itself, as well as the unity of the Dear Blues over the 10 years of its existence. Also of note is the inclusion of five original compositions by pianist and leader Miya Nakajima. From a light 4-beat sound to a heavy, bluesy sound, Miya Nakajima fully demonstrates her wide range of compositional abilities, and the exceptional expressive and technical skills of Kazuya Nakoji on bass and Yoshitaka Yamashita on drums, who bring them to perfection, lead this album to an even more creative level. The album is a studio recording with a live groove. The groovy sound of this studio recording with a live feel makes it a work of art unique to Dear Blues.
