A Japanese translation of the booklet, which includes an interview with Dufour himself, will be included in the domestic edition. The 27th release from the Berlin-based luxury label "bastille musique" is a collection of works by Hugues Dufour, a contemporary French master representing the spectral school of music who will turn 80 in 2023. Hugues Dufour, born in Lyon, studied piano and composition at the Conservatoire de Geneve, and while working there and teaching philosophy at a university in Lyon, he organized the Ensemble Itineraires in 1973 with Gérard Grisée, Tristan Murail, and others. He greatly contributed to the activities to introduce the spectral school of music in its early days to a wide audience.The album includes the complete Tiepolo Cycle written for piano and ensemble, all works for electric guitar, and major works for orchestra and piano performed by distinguished artists. A comprehensive booklet includes an interview with Dufour himself by label producer Sebastian Zolte (Japanese translation included on the domestic edition!).
