A 30th anniversary box of the Vogler String Quartet, which has matured with the same members since its founding in 1985! The Vogler String Quartet is a renowned East German ensemble that has maintained its founding members for over 30 years. The quartet gained international recognition by winning the first prize at the renowned Evian String Quartet Competition in 1986, just one year after its founding, and boasts a wide repertoire ranging from Haydn to Bartók and the Second Viennese School, including works by Jörg Wittmann, Mauricio Kargel, Ian Wilson, Frank The Vogler String Quartet celebrated its 30th anniversary in the 2014/15 season with this three-disc set, released as an anniversary boxed set. It features four live performances at the Konzerthaus Berlin, focusing on works from the 20th and 21st centuries, including Weill, Henze, Wittmann, Kagel, Ravel, and Abril.The 56-page booklet contains numerous color photographs of the young members of the group at the time of its formation, as well as various artists with whom the group has performed.
