Lee "Scratch" Perry, reggae super-legend and master of dub, whose revolutionary recording techniques and transformative/innovative influence on the Jamaican sound that would later come to be known as reggae. Arguably the greatest Jamaican record producer of all time, he was instrumental in transforming Jamaica's national sound throughout the 60's and 70's, effortlessly leaping over previous conventions and pushing musical boundaries with his unique approach to music production. He is truly a musical revolutionary and an artistic force to be reckoned with.In August 2022, the first anniversary of his passing in August 2021, a definitive anthology of his greatest works will be released, which will summarize his vast career and remind us why he has been so revered for so long. The anthology is a collection of his greatest hits, and it is now being released. The anthology, entitled KING SCRATCH: MUSICAL MASTERPICES FROM THE UPSETTER ARK-IVE, is a collection of his early days (1968-1973) and his post-1973 work through his own studio, The Black Ark. It will be released in three formats: a luxury box set consisting of 4 LPs and 4 CDs, a 2-CD set containing selected tracks from the box set, and a 2-CD vinyl set.The gatefold 2-CD analog vinyl and 2-CD collection is a richly condensed version of the legendary music maker's most famous works from the 60s and 70s, focusing on songs and performances by some of Jamaica's musical giants. It is an anthology work. It also includes liner notes that examine how his talent and imagination took reggae to new heights.
