Triebensee Arrangements by the wind virtuoso group AmphianTriebensee was a Bohemian composer. Like his father Georg, he was an oboe player and was the second oboe player at the Auf der Wieden Theater in Vienna. He was also a soloist, participating in the premiere of "The Magic Flute" conducted by Mozart. As a composer, he was a prolific writer, and his wind ensemble collections, in which he arranged works by other composers, are especially highly regarded. The works recorded here are also arrangements of famous works by Cherubini, Haydn, and Mozart. The Amphion Wind Octet is a group of skilled old instrumentalists who studied at the Schola Cantorum in Basel. The splendid composition of two oboes, two clarinets, two natural horns, two bassoons, a trumpet, and a contrabass provides a skillful ensemble. King International
