Two world premiere recordings of "Orpheus and Eurydice" by Henze, born in 1926. His creative spirit continues to grow and he continues to present us with new things. This time, we have two world premiere recordings of works from a little while ago, both related to the story of "Orpheus and Eurydice. In a mythical time, Eurydice, shortly after marrying Orpheus, a virtuoso musician, is bitten by a snake and loses her life. In order to bring Eurydice back from Hades, Orpheus succeeds in getting the gates of hell opened by having the guard of hell listen to his favorite song, but he breaks his promise never to look back at Eurydice until he returns to earth, and Eurydice is torn apart again. It is a sad story.The title of the second piece, Aristaeus, is a character in the poem who is said to be the ancestor of the serpent that killed Eurydice. The two pieces, one a clear, unaccompanied choral world and the other a colorful, intertwined orchestral drama, offer a taste of Henze's true artistry. King International
