Kalmus Ensemble and Amarcord, two vocal ensembles compete! This is a unique project album featuring a song competition between Kalmus Ensemble and Amarcord, two of Germany's leading vocal ensembles, reminiscent of the "Leipzig Debate: LEIPZIGER DISPUTATION" held in Leipzig in 1519, in which Johann Eck argued against Martin Luther's "95 Theses" of 1517, the originator of the Reformation. The centerpiece of this unique album is a song competition between two leading German vocal ensembles, Kalmus and Amarcord, reminiscent of the "Leipzig Debate: LEIPZIGER DISPUTATION. The centerpiece of the album is the 12-voice solemn Mass "Behold the shaking of the earth" by Antoine Brumel (c. 1460-1513), with works by Josquin de Prez Johann Walter and Thomas Stolzer interspersed between the pieces.
