Italian prodigy Francesco Rivetta, who has performed live all of Chopin's Etudes arranged by Godowsky, returns to his musical roots! His first Chopin album. Italian pianist Francesco Rivetta was born in 1968. He is also known as a virtuoso who stunned the music world by repeatedly performing live the complete Chopin Etudes arranged by Godowsky, and his performances have been described as "a poetic aristocrat with the profile and carriage of a Renaissance prince" (The New York Times), "Moritz Rosenthal, Busoni, He has been acclaimed as "the heir to Moritz Rosenthal, Busoni, and Godowsky" (Le Monde, France) and "the best pianist alive" (Corriere della Sera, Italy). He has visited Japan several times, and in his first visit to Japan in 1999, he performed Chopin-Godowsky Exercises. He is also a composer, having studied at IRCAM in Paris before shifting his focus to pianism, and has thus made a special effort to perform music of his own time. In terms of recordings, she has released ambitious albums at a young age, including Beethoven's "Diabelli Variations," a collection of Wagner's works arranged by Liszt, and a piano version of a symphonic poem by Liszt. In recent years, he has reduced his performance activities as a pianist and concentrated on composing and writing, as well as researching period-instrument performance. Rivetta, who has removed herself from the star system and the glamorous stage, so to speak, chose Chopin's piano music for her full-fledged return to that classical pianistic career. This is the second release from Sony Classical since 2023, when it released a collection of works by the popular Italian composer Ezio Bosso. The album, entitled "Chopin selon Chopin" (Chopin according to Chopin), is based on various historical sources and adopts the style of Chopin's concert performances during his lifetime. Improvised ornaments, transitional passages between pieces, tempo swings, and unique pauses allow us to feel freshness and emotional transitions, as if the music were being created on the spot, so to speak.
