The Mute Gods is the third album by Atheists and Believers, a super band consisting of Nick Beggs (STEVEN WILSON, STEVE HACKETT), Roger King (STEVE HACKETT), and Marco Minnemann (THE ARISTOCRATS, THE SEA WITHIN), The Mute Gods is a super band consisting of Nick Beggs' pop vocals, who has worked with progressive artists such as Steve Hackett and Steven Wilson, and Roger King (keys) and Marco Minnemann (drums), who have also worked in the progressive rock world. The band has earned high acclaim for their unique sound, which is supported by the profound and experienced performances of Roger King (keys) and Marco Minnemann (drums). They have steadily released their debut album, "Do Nothing till You Hear from Me" (2016) and their second, "Tardigrades Will Inherit the Earth" (2017).The long-awaited third album, "Atheists and Believers," like its predecessor, focuses on universal topics such as politics, humanity, and love. The title, "Atheists and Believers," is an interesting attempt to focus on both sides of the spectrum." The band's theme of "Envy the Dead," about "people who would rather die than face the world," brings a cheerful melody to a dark message, and the song is laced with the irony of a British band. Guests on this album include Alex Lifeson (RUSH), Craig Blundell (STEVEN WILSON), Rob Townsend (STEVE HACKETT), and backing vocals by Nick Beggs' daughter Lula Beggs. Beggs sounds a warning through this work: "We are all fools to believe that we have the power. We have given power to stupid people. They will not listen to the opinions of intellectuals." The "truth" no longer exists in this world. If this situation is not changed, the human race will perish."
