This box contains four albums by Thomas Kvasthoff, a bass-baritone singer born in Hildesheim in November 1959, for RCA. Kvasthoff overcame physical disabilities caused by the thalidomide disaster to pursue his career, studying voice with Charlotte Lehmann and music theory and music history with Ernst Huber-Kontovich, and in 1988 won the Munich ARD International Competition. Since then, she has been active in the fields of lieder, orchestral concerts, and oratorios. Her voice control and sense of tempo in the Schubert and Schumann songs are remarkable. The calm atmosphere of the music is not technical, but very natural and human in its warmth. In Mozart's arias, he sang the various emotions entrusted to him in his various operatic roles with skill, and sang each piece with a style that was appropriate to the work, and sang it with great eloquence.
