Description:

The world premiere recording of the previously unknown 1774 Neapolitan edition of Gluck's famous opera "Orfeo e Euridice" was composed in 1762. It is the first work in which Gluck and Lanieri Calzavige, the author of the libretto, embarked on a reform of opera seria and demonstrated the theory of opera reform in practice. It was first performed at the Burgtheater in Vienna on October 5 of the same year, and was composed based on the theory of music-theater reform, and was a great success at the time of its premiere, becoming one of Gluck's major operas. The role of Orfeo was changed to Haute Comteur, and more songs and instrumental music were added. The recording is the world premiere of the version performed at the Royal Palace in Naples in 1774, the same year as the Paris version. It is based on the original Viennese version, with the deletion of some ballets and choruses, and the shortening of the recitative, which emphasizes the simplicity of form and directness of expression.Jaroussky, who is unique in the countertenor world for her simply deep and transparent singing, Amanda Forsythe, who is attracting attention for her beautiful, sharp, and stunning singing, especially in baroque operas, and Emeke Barat, who is a hot topic for her beautiful and clear voice as the angel in the Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra's "Messiaen: St. Francis of Assisi" in 2017. Emeke Barrato, who became the talk of the town. And under the direction of Diego Fasolis, he tackled this masterpiece with precise reading and expression of the score in this much-talked-about album.
