She studied in Bucharest, Amsterdam, and elsewhere, and is currently the most frequently performed composer in Romania. In September 2001, "Symphony No. 3" and "Spirit of Elements" were performed as part of the Suntory Hall International Composition Commission Series No. 25. The Lament of Ice is by no means expository, but it reflects the composer's own awareness of the problem of global warming. It is a flute quartet work, but Ugurcic alone recorded two flutes, an alto flute, and a bass flute in multiple recordings. A very effective wind chime-like sound can be heard at the beginning and end of the piece. The "Lament" is based on the poem of the same name by Lucian Braga, a Romanian writer, poet, and philosopher. It is simple and short, but very expressive, reconstructing the world of the poem through music. The Willow Branch" was composed in memory of the March 11, 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami. The willow symbolizes both "woman" and "sorrow" in Romanian mythology, hence the title. On the threshold of a dream" is in three uninterrupted movements. The gradual transformation from extrovert to introvert is the point of this piece. In "Dragonfly," tension and relaxation are repeated, but toward the conclusion, there are more long notes and eventually a slow line. Although it is contemporary music, it is the kind of music that makes you feel as if you can see dragonflies flying in your garden. Pianist Satoko Hayami was born in Wakayama Prefecture. She currently resides in the United States. He is a piano instructor at the Beloit College of Music, chamber piano instructor at the Meadweiser School of Music at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and lecturer at Osaka University of Tourism. She is also an avid educator, holding workshops in Japan using the five senses. (Tobu Shoji)
