In other words, this is the same trio that recorded "Bill Evans at the Montreux Jazz Festival," one of the most popular Bill Evans albums and winner of a Grammy Award (for Best Soloist). The trio was active for only six months, and the Montreux recording is the only official recording of the trio until now. This recording is a full recording of the performance five days after the Montreux performance. Moreover, it is a studio recording, which is truly amazing. The excavator is Zev Feldman, who has made a number of high-profile recordings for Resonance. Mr. Feldman is naturally an enthusiast himself, a walking encyclopedia. When he heard the information about this sound source, he was shocked to his core. It is, of course, an astonishing record for people all over the world, and in other words, a page in the history of Bill Evans is being rewritten. The sound source is "A Day in the Life of Bill Evans at MPS Studios.Evans was under contract with Verve at the time, so he was unable to obtain the rights to release the album, and it has been quietly stored away without being seen by anyone. The fact that the three of them went into the studio together after that passion-filled live performance alone is enough to tickle the hearts of jazz fans.
