Description:
A Unique Breath Between Reality and Fantasy ECM has previously released works by Estonian composers such as Pärt, Eller, Tormis, and Sven Thur, but Kulwitz is one of the most active composers working today. The cellist Lechner was very interested in the score of "Seven Dreams of Seven Birds," which was shown to him by Kaluste. Originally intended for cello and chorus, in 2012 Kulwitz added a string ensemble and transformed it into a truly creative and poetic work. The old-fashioned musical tradition found in "Reflections from the Plainland," with its folk song elements, is another of Kulwitz's hallmarks. Each work evokes a unique breath between reality and fantasy. Universal Music/IMS
