For this recording, Alessandrini has examined all of Bach's works again, reconsidering style and instrumentation, and has reproduced in perfect balance the complex counterpoint and French-Italian dance character that are the charm of this "Orchestral Suite". A definitive masterpiece from Alessandrini. It is a must-see! Another attraction of this disc is that it includes works by Johann Bernhard Bach and Johann Ludwig Bach, another cousin of J.S. Bach, whose talent J.S. Bach recognized by featuring Bernhard's works in his concerts at the Collegium Musicum. Some of Bach's materials include transcriptions of Bernhard's works. J.S. Bach also performed works by Ludwig Bach in Leipzig. Thanks to this, many of Ludwig's works (especially cantatas) have survived.
