My love for country music is the same now as it ever was." - Ringo Starr T Bone Burnett produced and co-wrote the songs. The album features 11 original songs recorded in Nashville and Los Angeles earlier this year. Nine of the 11 songs on "Look Up" were written by T Bone Burnett alone or in collaboration with him, one of the remaining two songs was written by T Bone Burnett, and the other, Billy Swan, was co-written by Ringo Starr and Bruce Sugar. Ringo Starr sings and plays drums on all of the songs, and he also writes the closing number, "Thankful," which features Alison Krauss. In addition to Alison Krauss, T Bone Burnett has enlisted some of Nashville's most promising and up-and-coming artists for the album, including Billy Strings, Larkin Poe, Lucius, and Molly Tuttle.
