Dina Yoffe, a great pianist who inherited the pianistic style of Vera Gornostaeva—a renowned teacher at the Neuhaus School—and won second place at the 1975 International Chopin Piano Competition. This second collaborative album by the renowned Latvian pianist Dina Yoffe and her son, Daniel Weiman, features a modern Steinway piano—a departure from the historical pianos (an 1849 Erard and an 1848 Pleyel) used on their previous release (NIFCCD024)! The Yoffe & Weiman duo program features pieces for four hands and two pianos, as well as a solo performance by Dina Yoffe. It will be particularly interesting to compare this recording with the “Real Chopin” album (NIFCCD024), which was recorded on historical pianos. Tokyo M Plus
