The two members of the Kushonjek Piano Duo have been passionate about performing on historical instruments since their inception,A finely restored John Broadwood and Sons piano is also used in this work. The instrument's light, distinctive tone and delicate sound, which differs from that of modern pianos, create a sound appropriate for the salon music of early 19th century Warsaw. Since the duo's formation in 2012, the Kushonjek Piano Duo has been taught by master teachers such as Sławomir Cserpik, Maria Słajger-Krakowska, and Alie Vardi, and in 2019, the duo won the 21st Schubert International Piano Duo in Jeseník, Czech Republic, the In 2019, they won the second prize and a special prize (the Schubert Prize) at the 21st Schubert International Piano Duo Competition in Jesenik, Czech Republic.
