This release features the 2022 remastered audio originally created for the 2022 deluxe edition. *BREAKEVERYRULE* was released in 1986 as the follow-up to Tina Turner’s highly successful 1984 comeback album, *PRIVATEDANCER*. The first single from the album, “Typical Male,” was a huge chart success, peaking at No. 2 in the U.S. and No. 3 in Germany, among other Top 10 placements worldwide. “Back Where You Started” won the Grammy Award for Best Female Rock Vocal Performance in 1987. The album itself was a global hit, peaking at No. 4 on the U.S. charts, No. 2 on the UK charts, and No. 1 in Switzerland and Germany. This album features numerous big-name guests, including David Bowie, Mark Knopfler, Bryan Adams, Phil Collins, and Steve Winwood, who contributed songs. It also marks the revival of her songwriting partnership with Terry Britten and Graham Lyle, and the fact that they wrote the first five tracks on the album is a key point that cannot be overlooked when discussing this work.
