New Order is one of the most important groups representing the British music scene of the 1980s. Emerging from the legacy of Joy Division, they launched their career in 1981 with *MOVEMENT* and rose to become a charismatic force by pursuing their own aesthetic with each release. This release marks the first time that the 1994 singles compilation *THE BEST OF NEW ORDER* and its companion remix collection from the following year, *THE REST OF NEW ORDER*, have been brought together as a single, unified work. This release is a 2-CD edition combining the two albums, featuring the latest 2025 remastered audio (four formats in total, including a 4-CD deluxe edition and a vinyl release). *THE BEST OF* is the definitive collection of singles from 1985 onward, featuring newly recorded versions of “True Faith” and “Bizarre Love Triangle,” as well as the ’94 mixes of “1963” and “Round & Round,” and iconic tracks such as “Blue Monday ’88” “Regret,” and “World in Motion.” “THE REST OF” features remixes by Shep Pettibone, Armand Van Helden, and Howie B, with Hard Floor’s “Blue Monday ’95” generating significant buzz. Both albums are acclaimed compilations that reached the UK Top 5.
