Montrose, formed by guitarist Ronnie Montrose and singer Sammy Hagar, has released a 6-CD box set, "Got The Fire - Complete Recordings 1973-1976," covering their music from the early to mid-1970s. The box set includes the four Warner Bros. albums "Montrose (1973)", "Paper Money (1974)", "Warner Bros. Presents Montrose! (1975), and Jump On It (1976), plus bonus tracks, demos, and two live radio sessions. The debut album "Montrose" is a 2 CD set, consisting of a disc of the original recordings with additional bonus tracks, and a disc of 6 demo tracks and the debut performance recorded for KSAN radio in Sausalito, CA on April 21, 1973. The disc consists of six demo tracks and the debut performance recorded for KSAN radio in Sausalito, California on April 21, 1973.Their second album, "Paper Money," was also a two-disc set, consisting of a disc of the original recordings plus bonus tracks, and a disc of a performance recorded for KSAN radio in Sausalito, California, on December 26, 1974. The third album "Warner Bros. Presents Montrose!" and the fourth album "Jump On It," released after Sammy Hagar left the band and was replaced by Bob James on vocals, contain one to three bonus tracks each. This is a gorgeous 6-disc set that fans of the early 70s should own.
