Piano Duo of a New Dimension: Aya Sakamoto and Lisa Sakamoto, 3rd Prize winners at the 70th Munich ARD International Competition, present their long-awaited debut disc! The Sakamoto sisters began playing as a duo at an early age and have cultivated an astonishing ensemble. They have won numerous international competitions, and in 2021, they will perform in Munich, a difficult competition. The two sisters will perform two works for two instruments: Lavelle-Fauré, a representative French work for four hands, and "On a Theme of Beethoven". Reger, whose works have been re-evaluated in recent years, is a masterpiece that forms a fugue and a grand climax through 12 transformations from the theme of the final piece of Pagatell op.119. From synchronized to artistic - a launch into a brilliant future. ＜Aya SAKAMOTO and Lisa SAKAMOTO were born in Fukuoka Prefecture. Aya was 6 years old and Lisa was 4 years old when they started to play piano duo. At the 70th ARD Munich International Music Competition, they were the first Japanese duo to win the 3rd prize in the piano duo division, and also won the Audience Prize and the Special Prize. They also won the 1st Prize in the Junior Piano Duo Division of the 32nd Pitina Piano Competition and the Senzoku Gakuen Maeda Prize. She won the 2nd Prize and the Steinway Prize at the 20th International Piano Duo Competition in Japan.First Prize and Paderewski Prize at the 7th International Piano Duo Competition (Poland). As a supplementary prize, she will give a recital in Gdansk, Poland in March 2019. In March 2022, he performed the orchestral version of Joe Hisaishi's "Variation 57 - Concerto for 2 Pianos" at the regular concert of the Century Orchestra of Japan, under the direction of the composer himself. The world premiere of the orchestral version was given by the composer himself. In May 2023, he performed Poulenc's "Concerto for two pianos" with Pascal Roffet at the Kyushu Symphony Orchestra's subscription concert. In July 2024, he performed Saint-Saens "Carnival of the Animals" with Roman Reshekin at the Hiroshima Symphony Orchestra's Kure Subscription Concert.In addition, he has performed with numerous orchestras and players, including the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra and the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, and has appeared at music festivals including the Tokyo Spring Music Festival and the Berlin Piano Duo Festival. 2019 NHK-FM "Thank You FM 50" live broadcast, and has been featured on NHK's "Classic Club" and "Best of Classics", NHK E-TV's "Go Focus", TNC's "Reporter's Power", Fuji TV's "Mezamashi TV", and many other TV and newspaper media. He was awarded the Bruno Frei Music Prize in 2021 and the Fukuoka City Cultural Prize in 2023.
