The "Bluebeard's Castle" is a story that unfolds only with Lord Bluebeard and his wife, Judith, throughout the entire work, except for the opening speech. The first half of the story is about Lord Bluebeard's cruelty, the middle part is about his wealth, and the last part is about the secrets of his former wives. The baritone Gerne and the soprano Zitkova express the difficult psychological portrayal beautifully, and the delicate and varied tone of the Saito Kinen Orchestra conducted by Seiji Ozawa reveals the unique atmosphere of the work. 2016 Record Academy Award Grand Prize-winning recording.
