Yurino Uehata

Description:

Yurino Uehata, winner of many domestic competitions, now presents her first solo album that combines youthfulness and deep musicality. This is an authentic piece that weaves a beautiful and fresh Romantic world. Yurino Uehata is a young flutist who has attracted attention in Japan after winning the 25th Lake Biwa International Flute Competition, the 18th Sendai Flute Competition, and the 40th Kanagawa Music Competition, Flute Division. However, her charm is not confined to the stage of competitions. Her music continues to be refined remarkably even today, and this CD is a small slice of her "now". Beyond the polished technique lies a beautiful and dignified sound. From the richly rising bass notes to the shimmering high notes, this youthful yet never too sharply pointed piece blends easily into the listener's ears and heart. The four pieces on this recording traverse the Romanticism movement, which brings out the full appeal of the flute. The lineup allows the listener to enjoy the richness of tone, the beauty of phrasing, and the ensemble with the piano. Pianist Yume Kurosawa, who performs with Uehata in this work, is a musician of the same age as Uehata. Players living in the same era talk with each other about music in a casual, yet serious manner - this album is a record of such a dialogue. The bold and lively piano supports the power of the flute. You can feel their breathing in the small "pauses" that occur between phrases. The fresh sensibility of the younger generation and the natural breathing that comes from being friends who have been together for a long time can be seen throughout the performance. Despite her overwhelming skills, Yurino Uehata's personality of trying to be sincere in her music, rather than just coloring every performance with her own individuality, is clearly expressed in this album. As she carefully selects the sounds, she does not push her emotions out excessively, but she also does not remain calm, and each phrase is imbued with her desire to "cherish this moment. The scenery she shows us suddenly creates an uplifting feeling that makes our hearts burn deep in our chests. At that moment when you want to touch something beautiful that comes to you in your daily life, press the play button. The sound spun by these two young musicians in this time and age will give you a pleasant stimulus and a deep reverberation. (Writer / Kabao Hiraiwa)
