Orquesta Aragón is one of Cuba's most famous national groups. Active since before the revolution and still at the top of their game, they will celebrate their 80th anniversary on September 30. This double album is a small celebration of their longevity from the other side of the world. Orquesta Aragón made its record debut in 1953, 14 years after the group was formed. It was the first year of the Cha Cha Cha Cha, when Enrique Hollein's first Cha Cha Cha, "The Lying Woman," was released on record. The history of Orquesta Aragone's 78rpm recordings that began in 1953 coincides with the creation and growth of the cha-cha-cha. This album is the first time in the world that the historical recordings of the Cha Cha Cha Cha at its peak have been thoroughly researched and arranged in chronological order. This is the world's first chronologically edited 2-CD set that arranges the recordings in chronological order. By listening to the recordings in this order, you can easily understand the transition and growth of the Orquesta Aragone group, and at the same time, you can deeply feel the dynamism of the cha-cha-cha era, when the charanga style orchestra gained great popularity.One might say that this is like watching old-time music shine with the times, right up close and personal. The music of Orquesta Aragón, with its light, airy playing centered on flutes and violins, and lustrous unison choruses, is a true Cuban delight. The music of Orquesta Aragón, with its hot Cuban rhythms, is truly a gorgeous tropical music for adults to enjoy.
