100 years after Holst's "The Planets," a new cosmic encounter unfolds! For the first time, world-renowned electronic music producer and DJ Jeff Mills has composed music about planets with orchestration in mind. The music is based on scientific data such as the structure, materials, size, mass, and density of each planet, and the listener is taken on a journey through the solar system. Two versions are included: an electronic version created by Mills alone, and an orchestral version performed with the Porto Casadamusica Symphony Orchestra of Porto, Portugal. The electronic version is a sketch for the orchestral version, and is recorded as it was originally produced, unedited. This is the most ambitious work in the history of Jeff Mills, who has been dealing with the theme of the "universe" in which we live through his various works.
