It was also highly acclaimed around the world. This video is a recording of the performance at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées the following year, with an almost entirely new cast. Jacobs' conducting was meticulous in its attention to the balance of the individual instruments, giving Mozart's vibrant music perfect dynamics and harmonious sound. Pisaroni as Figaro and Joshua as Susanna were two of the best Mozart singers of their day, and Dasch as the Countess was also a "rising soprano" of note. Spagnoli, a veteran, sang Figaro. The best cervino singer, Kirchschlager, and a wonderful lineup of singers. The production is also noteworthy.The walls of the theater are decorated with numerous inspirational paintings, against which the characters create an elegant and intelligent story that is a joy to behold on film. This new edition has been remastered throughout to further enhance the beauty of the images, and is also available with Japanese subtitles.
