When they first debuted in 1979, Cure had a solid post-punk 8-beat sound, but Robert Smith's gloom gradually changed the band's music to a more gothic sound. Unfortunately, only 13 songs seem to remain in the BBC transcriptions that were recorded for broadcast, and we are waiting for the rest of the recordings to be unearthed.
