Edgar Moreau

Description:

Edgar Moreau, a young cellist who will celebrate his 20th birthday in 2014, began playing the cello at the age of four and was recognized for his talent at an early age, participating in master classes with such luminaries as Mario Brunello, Anner Bylsma, Miklós Perenyi, and David Geringas, among others. In 2010, he was invited to the master classes of the Verbier Festival, which brought him to the attention of the world. He has been invited to perform in concerts and with orchestras as a "young talent," and has been giving fresh performances. He also appeared at La Folle Journée au Japon in 2012, where he performed a work by Rachmaninoff that left the audience in a whirlpool of excitement. His debut recording for the Erato label is "PLAY: Works for Cello and Piano. This collection of pieces reflects him as he is today, with both musicality and virtuosity on display, and includes not only technical pieces such as Monti's "Czardas" but also Fauré's "Elegy," Saint-Saens, and Schubert works, which require an overflowing sense of song, and works by Poulenc and Rostropovich, which demand humor and a modern sense of style. The album is rich in variety, offering a full range of his current works, including works by Poulenc and Rostropovich, which demand humor and a modern sense of style. The first thing that surprises the listener is the beauty of his tone and his straightforward singing. I want to see what will happen to this terrific talent! This is an album full of appealing power that makes you want to see what happens to this terrific talent. Warner Music Japan
