Gabrieli / His Majestys Sagbutts & Cornetts
Description:
The Magnificent Works of Giovanni Gabrieli Giovanni Gabrieli stands at the pinnacle of the Venetian School of Music. His works were first published in 1615, and 2015 marks the 400th anniversary of his publication. In addition, 2015 marks the 500th anniversary of the founding of King's College Chapel. To commemorate this, the King's College Chorus has recorded Gabrieli's work. Moreover, the recording was made using the latest Dolby Atmos technology, aiming for unparalleled realism. Gabrieli, who was organist at St. Mark's Basilica in Venice, has written numerous works for both religious voices and instrumental music. Although Gabrieli's fanfares for wind instruments are no longer performed in St. Mark's Basilica, they are performed frequently in Cambridge. In this recording, not only the beauty of the chorus, but also the fanfares for wind instruments are captured in a very soft and beautiful sound. This is a recording of Gabrieli's majestic world that can be enjoyed with a high standard of audio. King International
