Domenico Cimarosa was one of the most famous Italian opera composers of the 18th century, before the arrival of Rossini, and his operas, including "The Secret Marriage," made him one of the most famous composers of the time. In 1924, a collection of sonatas for keyboard was discovered at the Florence Conservatory. The sonatas, of which 88 were recently discovered, were written so that they could be played not only on the harpsichord but also on the organ, which was common in Italy at that time, and two types of organs are used in this recording.
