Description:

Debut of Finnish rising star pianist Hannu Alasarella! The debut album of Finnish pianist Hannu Alasarella, whose unique sensibility depicts the "Golteberg Variations". Alasarella began studying piano at the age of 8. In the beginning, he explored the piano as an instrument in his own way and enjoyed improvising and composing. These foundations influenced his later music, leading to such accolades as "His playing is different from others and cannot be said to represent any traditional style" (YLE (Finnish Broadcasting Corporation)). The media described his playing as "bright and sensitive. His transparency, rhythmic flexibility, and liveliness" (HS (Helsinki Newspaper)) and "extremely refined, even aristocratic in its elegance" (Oulu "Kaleva" newspaper). Kimmo Pihlajamaa, who taught Alassarella at the Oulunsalo School of Fine Arts, produced and recorded the "Golberg Variations," a performance in which all these media remarks were created in "sound" and "music. From the first "aria" to the first and second variations, and finally to the 30th variation and the reprise of the "aria," Alasarella has created his own piano music from the music Bach wrote for the two-stage harpsichord. The booklet includes liner notes (in Finnish and English) written by Alasarella entitled "Harmony as a Law of Nature" and Pihlajamaa's "Poetic Fantasy by a Baroque Genius". Born in Oulunsalo, Finland. She studied at the Oulunsalo Art School with Kimmo Pihlajamaa and Jouko Tottelstrem, and since 2014 at the Sibelius Academy at the University of Helsinki with Tuija Hakkila and Irmo Ranta, and with Erik T. Tavaschelna, Liisa Pohjola, Matti Raekallio and others. She has participated in many competitions, including the 2012 Levi Madetoya Piano Competition, where she won first prize. With a wide repertoire of works from all areas of music history, he has performed in concerts in Finland, Sweden, the Baltic States, Germany, and Switzerland. Inspired by the natural sciences, literature, and philosophy, he is also a composer and arranger. King International
