A project that raises the issue of today's climate crisis! A contemporary "Rural Symphony" by "Prokofiev's grandson"! Gabriel Prokofiev, whose grandfather was the great Russian composer Sergei Prokofiev, is a London-based composer, producer and DJ. With classical music as his roots, he creates his own unique music incorporating club, hip-hop, and other dance music and electronics. Pastoral 21" is a project that explores what the concept of "pastoral" means to us in this era of climate crisis. Inspired by his "Rural Symphony," which was inspired by the Viennese countryside, Gabriel Prokofiev recorded nature sounds in the Swiss Alps as a starting point. Pastoral Reflections" was born from asking himself what nature meant to Beethoven and what kind of pastoral works a composer could create in this time of climate crisis we are currently facing.The contrast between the string sextet version of Beethoven's "Rural Symphony" arranged by M.G. Fischer and Gabriel Prokofiev's work with modern technology will make the audience think about the environmental changes between Beethoven's time and today and how to deal with the environment.
