The Chorus of St. John's College, Cambridge, where he began his career as a singer, releases Schubert's masterpiece "The Beautiful Millsman's Daughter" from their series! Yestyn Davies is a British countertenor widely regarded as one of the world's finest singers, thanks to his beautifully dexterous voice and intelligent musicianship. He has won two Gramophone Awards, a Grammy Award, and a Laurence Olivier Award nomination, and was awarded the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in 2017 for his achievements. This album, in which she sings one of Schubert's three major song cycles, "The Beautiful Watermill Girl," is part of the series by St. John's College Choir of Cambridge, where Yestyn Davies began her career as a singer, and is being released by Signum Classics. It will be released on Signum Classics.Andru Nesinga and Yestin Davis, who is currently the Director of Music at St. John's College, started at St. John's on the same day in 1987. At the time, Nesinga was an organ scholar and Davis was a 7-year-old apprentice (probationer). Later, Davis was Head Chorister and Choral Scholar, and has been involved with St. John's College for a long time, building on its traditions. The booklet (in English) includes a description of the work, lyrics, and comments by Andrew Nesinga and Christopher Robinson, who was the Director of Music at St. John's College when Davis was 11 years old.
