Robert Fripp

Description:

King Crimson disbanded its second lineup in 1974 after the release of the album "Red". Since then, Robert Fripp, who had been living in New York charging his batteries and performing sporadically as a solo artist, such as in "Fripp & Eno" with Brian Eno and in David Bowie's and Peter Gabriel's works, finally released his first solo album, "Exposure," in 1979. In 1979, Robert Fripp released his first solo album, "Exposure". It was the first album to fully introduce the "Frippertronics" technique, which was the driving force behind Fripp's subsequent guitar technique and sound design, in which he layered more guitar over looped guitar sounds output on multiple analog tapes. It was also strongly influenced by the punk and new wave bands that were flourishing at the time, and presented a sound not unlike Crimson's. This important work is now available in an expanded CD+DVD edition. The CD is the latest "4th Edition" of "Exposure" and features an updated stereo mix by Steven Wilson from the original multi-track tapes. The DVD includes high-res stereo audio and DTS 5.1 surround sound from its Exposure: 4th Edition. Also on the DVD is an early work version of the August 1978 production of Exposure, tentatively titled "The Last Of The Great New York Heartthrobs," featuring Daryl Hall on vocals, as originally planned. High-res stereo audio of the version with original vocals and lyric, the 1983 remix <3rd Edition> featuring vocals by Daryl Hall and Terre Roche, Daryl Hall's "Sacred Songs", Peter Gabriel's "II" material, etc. material and more in high-res stereo audio.
