Lana Del Rey's father, Rob Grant, has signed with Decca Records and released his debut album, which features two songs by Lana! Debut album from Rob Grant, creator of beautiful soundscapes, who also plays piano and composes music. Grant is the father of international icon Lana Del Rey. Although he has no formal musical education and cannot read music, he has taught himself to play piano and compose music while working. Although he has never been involved in recording, his beautiful melodies have been highly acclaimed, and this album also features the participation of Jack Antonoff, Luke Howard, Laura Sisk, and Zach Dawes, among many others. His daughter, Lana, also contributes vocals on two songs. About "Setting Sail on a Distant Horizon," which is now available for download, Grant says, "This song is a piano piece about the happiness and freedom I felt when I sailed out of Newport, Rose Island, on my boat, 'Erewhon,' to Nantucket Island and Martha's Vineyard Island. It is a piano piece I wrote about theThe piano starts slowly and builds as the sails fill with wind and the ship heals as it lulls itself into the heavy Atlantic swell. The piano carries you along as the ship picks up speed, catches more wind, and moves toward the distant horizon." He has worked a variety of jobs to support his family, including copywriter at an advertising agency, restaurant manager, real estate broker, and furniture business, and now he has arrived at the profession of "artist".
