Howard's works are rapidly establishing a reputation in Europe, and her Trombone Concerto, premiered by Peter Moore and the RLPO in June 2021, was called "an instant classic..." by The Times. Lush... Captivating..." The concerto was highly acclaimed by the Times. Many of his works have been commissioned by major British orchestras, including the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra (RLPO), and have been performed by over 40 orchestras, including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, CBSO, Halle Orchestra, BBC Philharmonic, Britten Sinfonia Orchestra. Howard is also composer in residence with the London Symphony Orchestra. Peter Moore, soloist in the Trombone Concerto, won the BBC Young Musician of the Year Award in 2008 at the age of 12, and in 2014, at just 18 years old, he was appointed Deputy Principal Trombonist of the London Symphony Orchestra.He is one of the world's leading trombonists, having been selected for BBC Radio 3's New Generation Artist Scheme in 2015, and for the 2018/19 season as an ECHO Rising Star. Currently, in addition to his orchestral work as principal trombonist of the London Symphony Orchestra, he has performed as a soloist with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, RLPO, and Lucerne Symphony Orchestra, among others. As an educator, he is Professor of Trombone at the Royal Academy of Music.
