HUDDERSFIELD Contemporary Records is a contemporary music label established by the Department of Music at the University of Huddersfield in Yorkshire, northern England. The label's main purpose is to promote the works of the university's composition students and teachers, as well as the performances of the university's enrolled performance scientists and teachers. Brynn Harrison teaches in the composition department at the university. Three Descriptions of Place and Movement" for string quartet is a surreal work in which atonal sounds are spun from beginning to end with gentle movements and long note values. The non-vibrato sound of all instruments is reminiscent of Morton Feldman's works, while the layered non-vibrato organ-like sound transports the listener to a medieval Renaissance-era European cathedral.
