A new-era “GIGS” album, recreating the legendary box set from 1986, is being revived in the Reiwa era as a 40th-anniversary edition. Forty years ago... July 2, 1986. Wednesday. Having risen from the live house scene, the rapidly rising band BOOWY (Kyosuke Himuro, Tomoyasu Hotei, Tsunematsu Matsui, Makoto Takahashi) performed a solo concert at Nippon Budokan. It was that night when, toward the end of the show, during their performance of “IMAGE DOWN,” the famous line “Welcome to the Budokan from the live house!” rang out.
