The recordings by legendary engineer Roy Dunant were mastered from the original tapes by Bernie Grundman, who has spent his career at Contemporary and looks up to Dunant as his mentor, and the newest remastered sound sources were used in 2022. This is Coleman's second album, recorded in 1959, in which he performed with Heath and other talented West Coast musicians.
